On the Big Manistee River

Manistee Paddlesport Adventures offers family oriented Canoe, Kayak, Tube, & Raft trips on the lower section of the Big Manistee River. The Big Manistee River is designated a Wild and Scenic River. It is an excellent river for beginner and intermediate paddlers, and families with children. It is characterized by gentle currents, sparkling water, and sandbars perfect for swimming.

We also offer Canoe & Kayak trips on the Little Manistee River. This is an excellent river for intermediate to advanced paddlers wishing a more challenging adventure. It is characterized by shallow fast water, obstacles such as trees and limbs and log jambs, and sharp turns.

Both rivers are renowned Salmon and Steelhead (Rainbow) Trout fisheries. Paddlers will have opportunities to encounter Bald eagles, Heron, Swans, Ducks, Turtles, and Deer, among other wildlife.

Manistee Paddlesport Adventures offers several trip length, put-in, and pull-out options. Our most economical trips are those that end at Insta Launch Campground and the Paddlesport office. Trips ending at other locations are charged a $30 per group Hauling Fee. There is a $10 additional charge for 3rd person in canoe 10yrs or older.

All prices include life vest, seat cushion, paddles, and transportation to the drop in point.

We also offer Livery service for those with their own watercraft.

In addition to our Livery service we also offer Canoe & Kayak rentals for persons wishing to explore the waters adjacent to Insta Launch Campground. Paddlers can explore the Manistee State Game Area wetlands, teaming with wildlife, and Manistee Lake right from our facility.

Reservations

To Avoid disappointment Reservations are recommended. Walk-ins are welcome on a space available basis.
